TORRINGTON, Conn. — This year’s 23-year-old champion played premium Rifle steel shafts in her irons to win the 2005 U.S. Women’s Open Championship in Cherry Hills Village, Colo. The win was the first-ever tour victory for the young South Korean, and the biggest purse in women’s golf.

“ We’re very excited to win the biggest tournament of the LPGA season,” says John Lauchnor, president and CEO of Royal Precision. “Rifle-branded shafts offer incredibly advanced engineering which combines multiple technologies to significantly enhance energy transfer to the ball at impact and to generate optimum trajectories with stability and control.”

Providing tighter shot dispersion; better control; greater distance with improved accuracy; and a smooth, yet solid feel at impact, the benefits of Rifle shafts have been showcased by top-ranked tour players worldwide. Only Rifle steel shafts offer four unique technologies for unmatched performance: Frequency Matching that perfectly matches a set of clubs through electronic calibration; Stepless Design Technology that eliminates the energy-robbing ‘steps’ found on most other steel shafts, and provides greater accuracy and a smooth, yet solid, feel at impact; Patented Internal ‘Rifling’ that transfers energy more efficiently than other steel shafts, reduces vibration and increases distance; and advanced Flighted Technology that features produces variable ball trajectories for different clubs within a single set.

For 2005, Rifle-branded steel shafts are celebrating their 10th year of dominance among premium steel shafts. So far this season, Rifle-branded shafts have been victorious at the Mercedes Championship, FBR Open, AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, Chrysler Classic of Tucson, WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, Honda Classic, BellSouth Classic, MCI Heritage and The Barclays Classic on the PGA Tour and the Bruno’s Memorial Classic on the Champions Tour. Internationally, Rifle shafts have also won the BMW Asian Open, New Zealand Open, BMW Championship, Qatar Masters and Dubai Desert Classic.
